Information about our dogs and breeding program:
After many years of breeding the Newfoundland Pyrenees cross, we have gotten feedback on many levels of their adaptability, protective instinct, and trainability. We can highly recommend this cross for companion dogs, outdoor adventure protectors, livestock protection on smaller acreages, and water companions.
We do not recommend the cross for hard core LGD needs such as high predator pressure or large grazing operations. Best to go with one of the standard LGD breeds for these needs such as the Pyrenees, Maremma, Anatolian, Akbash and many others.
We primarily breed our working Livestock Guardian Pyrenees females to a Newfoundland male sire. Our pyrs are an integral part of the farm, and work hard day and night to keep our sheep safe from predators. We have found the Pyrenees to be loyal and dependable working dogs with high intelligence and friendly characters.
Our Newfoundland males thrive on the farm and love being a part of any outdoor activity. They do not stay with the sheep full time, like the Pyrenees, but stick around the property during the day, and lounge on their dog beds inside at night!
Puppies or Dogs for Re-Home
Occasionally, we have older puppies or dogs available for re-homing. Some are our puppies that we previously sold and some are from other places. All of these dogs stay with us for a period so we can evaluate them and know what type of new, hopefully forever, home they require. If you are interested in possibly adopting and older puppy or dog, please contact us to see if we have any dogs currently available.
